Carnival!

Posted: February 12, 2018

I’m thrilled to be playing this Saturday, February 17th, at the Crocodile Cafe with Eduardo Mendonca and Show Brazil! Eduardo and Co. have been playing this show for about 20 years now, so it’s pretty well dialed in. If you’re looking for a party for Carnival, this is the place to be. Tickets are on sale now, pre-ordering is recommended!

Tim Warfield Quartet at Tula’s

Posted: January 18, 2018

I have the privilege of performing with saxophonist Tim Warfield next month, as part of the Bellevue College Jazz Festival. Tim is an outstanding musician from New York by way of Pennsylvania. His playing gained national recognition when, in the ’90s, he joined Christian McBride’s ensemble, and then trumpeter Nicholas Payton’s. If you want to check out some of his music before he’s in town, he has almost a dozen albums on the Criss Cross label.

There are ample opportunities to hear Warfield play over the first weekend in February, but the most exciting will be a quartet date at Tula’s on Friday, February 2. He’ll be joined by Greg Feingold on bass, Matt Jorgensen on drums, and yours truly on piano. Check it out!

Solo Faculty Recital

Posted: January 24, 2015

I’m very excited to announce that I’ll be presenting a solo piano recital at Seattle Pacific University next month. I’ll be celebrating the great jazz composers, performing works by Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Ornette Coleman, and many others. I’m also playing a few more modern songs by Paul Simon, and David Byrne.

The venue is E.E. Bach Theater on the campus of Seattle Pacific University.

The concert is kid-friendly, and free. More details are on the calendar page. Come on out if you’re in the area!

If you’re in the area for the weekend, stop by!

Gigs with Emily Asher’s Garden Party

Posted: June 1, 2013

EmilyAsher1I’m excited to announce that I’ll be playing several gigs in July with Emily Asher’s Garden Party, playing the music of Hoagy Carmichael.  Emily is a fantastic trombone player, originally from Seattle, who now lives and performs in New York.  We played together quite a bit a couple of decades ago, and I’m excited to have the chance to make music with Emily again.  Details for all of the show are on the calendar page!

2013 News and Notes

Posted: January 8, 2013

The Dan Kramlich Grunge Trio has a couple of exciting shows coming up in the new year.  We’re starting the year with a Seattle area mini-tour, with shows at three of our favorite venues, Boxley’s in North Bend, the CMA Gallery in Wallingford, and Löcol in West Seattle. The CMA gallery show is a rare opportunity to hear the band in an intimate concert venue. Advance tickets for that show are available at Brown Paper Tickets.

Also, we’re excited to announce that the Dan Kramlich Grunge Trio has been accepted to perform at Jazz in the Valley in Ellensburg this summer. Jazz in the Valley is a festival that includes over a dozen venues, and a mainstage in the center of town.  The Grunge Trio will be performing at the Clymer Gallery on the Friday night of the festival.

You can keep informed about what’s happening with the Grunge Trio and my other projects here, or on the band’s facebook page.  Happy New Year!

The Final Grunge Trio Show of 2012

On Friday, November 9th, Boxley’s in North Bend will host the Dan Kramlich Grunge Trio’s final show of the year.  The band has a few new arrangements of your favorite tunes from the early 90’s.  Come hear them one last time before the new year!
