About Dan Kramlich

Pianist Dan Kramlich has established himself as one of Seattle’s most sought after performers, educators, composers, and adjudicators. His playing style was informed by jazz legends Fred Hersch and Billy Hart, with whom he worked extensively while studying at Western Michigan University, where he earned a B.M. in Jazz Studies. Dan also earned an M.A. in Orchestration for Film, Games, and Television from the University of Chichester in the U.K.

Dan can be heard on many recordings by local musicians, including Steve Treseler’s “Center Song,” the Vern Sielert Dektet’s “From There to Here,” Bernie Jacobs’ “One by One,” and Phil Parisot’s “Lingo” and “Creekside.”

He currently performs with his own group, the Dan Kramlich Grunge Trio, as well as the Javatown Swing Orchestra, Jennifer Kienzle, and many others.

Dan also maintains a busy teaching studio. He currently teaches courses in piano, jazz history, and music technology at Seattle Pacific University and Bellevue College.
